The trip starts with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Burgas at 9:30. The journey is deliberately relaxed. No rushed sightseeing. No crowded coach. Instead, your guide introduces you to the ancient history of the Black Sea coast and to the remarkable civilization, that once flourished here.

Our first destination is Pomorie — ancient Anchialos. A town whose story stretches back more than two millennia.

The first stop is one of the most extraordinary monuments on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast – the the ancient Thracian tomb of Pomorie.

Hidden beneath a burial mound approximately 5 km west of modern Pomorie, the monument dates from the 2nd–4th century AD and is believed to have served as a heroon — a mausoleum associated with a wealthy family of ancient Anchialos. But what makes this monument truly remarkable is its architecture. A 22-metre-long corridor leads into a circular burial chamber approximately 11.6 metres in diameter and 5.5 metres high.

It is an extraordinary fusion of Roman engineering and Thracian funerary traditions.

And standing inside the chamber, beneath its monumental vault, you can still feel the ambition of the people who built it almost two thousand years ago.

Then, we continue to Pomorie itself. The modern town occupies a narrow rocky peninsula extending approximately 3.5 kilometres into the Black Sea, with the sea surrounding it on three sides and Pomorie Lake to the north.

The town developed into an important center during Roman times and prospered through its relationship with the sea, trade, salt production, agriculture and wine.

Your guide will bring these layers of history to life while we take a relaxed walking tour through the historic heart of Pomorie.

Rather than rushing from monument to monument, we take time to experience the town itself: the harbor, the old houses, the sea, the scent of salt in the air.

Then comes one of the most unusual natural experiences of the day – Pomorie`s dark sands. The color is associated with the mineral and iron-rich composition of the sand, giving parts of the coastline its distinctive dark appearance.

We take a leisurely walk along the dark-sand coastline and enjoy time for photographs and coffee before continuing to the final — and most exclusive — chapter of our journey.

We leave Pomorie and return towards Burgas to a special SPA and wellness complex.

Located in the Mineral Baths area of Vetren, the complex presents itself as an adults-only wellness and longevity destination combining mineral water, spa facilities and advanced recovery therapies.

After a morning of walking and exploration, this becomes the perfect transition from cultural discovery to complete relaxation.
