The town is located at the foot of the Rila Mountain, 75 km from the capital Sofia, 28 km from the ski resort of Borovets and 10 km from the town of Dolna Banya.
The mineral springs in the town of Kostenets are part of the Valley of Health, as it is known to the locals. In the valley, there are three
mineral water complexes: Momin Prohod, Vili Kostenec and Pchelinski bani.
The local nature enchants with picturesque waterfalls, which the national poet Ivan Vazov aptly calls “a piece of Paradise”. The temperature of the thermal water is from 47 to 73 degrees Celsius and helps people with the following diseases:

The cultural heritage of the region includes ancient Roman baths, 36 Thracian burial mounds, 20 necropolises and 11 settlements.
