Private Day Trip to Plovdiv and Optional Wine Tasting

Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Sofia at 9:00 AM. Relax in a private car as you make your way to Plovdiv, a journey of about 2 hours.

Upon arrival, embark on a 2-hour walk in Plovdiv’s old town with a convenient audio-guide in your chosen language. Discover the city’s rich history, which spans Thracian, Roman, Byzantine, Medieval Bulgarian, Ottoman, Revival Bulgarian, and Soviet periods.

Stroll through the old Revival houses from the 19th century, admire the Roman theater and stadium, and take in the views from Nebet Hill. Walk along the main street, officially the longest pedestrian street in Europe.

In this area you will also find a lot of restaurants, where you can have a lunch break.

Or if you are interested in wines, we will recommend you a great place with a cozy atmosphere, where you will be able to try some of the most popular local wines, such as Mavrud and Rubin!

It is a small experience, but one that opens a door to the mysterious world of Thrace, where wine, legends and ancient rituals were deeply intertwined!

After the lunch break, you can check some of the souvenir shops in the central area. We also recommend you to visit the “Klianti” house and the recently opened Old Basilica of Philipopolis, with its amazing early- Christian mosaics!

At around 3:30 PM, begin your journey back to Sofia, arriving at your hotel by 5:30 PM.
